The COVID-19 pandemic has turned our world upside down in a very short time, and the situation is changing daily, if not hourly. Just today Governor Murphy has requested a statewide 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. ban on nonessential travel statewide. State court jury trials have been postponed indefinitely. Federal court jury trials have been suspended until April 30, and could be delayed longer.
Businesses will be relying upon remote work to an unprecedented degree to keep the wheels turning. This is particularly a problem for small and medium sized businesses that do not have the financial and workforce resources needed to survive a long period of reduced business activity.
We want you to know that we will be here for you, although our office may be closed from time to time as we work remotely. In the interest of keeping everyone safe, we will be focused on minimizing in-person meetings. We have upgraded our videoconferencing capabilities and will continue to be available by telephone. Please help us to serve you by doing the following:
- If you want to talk by telephone or videoconference, please contact us to schedule an appointment on a specific date and at a specific time. It will help us if you can provide several alternatives, for example, “I can be available on Monday between 2 and 4 or Wednesday in the morning.”
- Please make your request for an appointment both by voicemail and email so we don't miss your communication. Email is generally reliable, but it's not foolproof, and spam filters sometimes do intercept real messages.
- If your conversation requires the review of documents, please send copies --- not originals --- to us at last 24 hours in advance. This is most easily be done by email. If the documents contain sensitive or personal informal please let us know and we will send you a secure link to use.
